A friend of mine has a nice 76 F-250 Supercab, 4WD, manual, with a 390.

Thought a 390 didn't get paired into the 4WD platform?

Also thought SuperCabs weren't available as 4WD till later years (77 or 78?)?

Also not sure about the manual option either - thinking this truck would've come w/automatic?

 

You never know what was ordered and you never know what motor might of been swapped in later? I bet 360 and not a 390. Sounds like a nice set up none the less.

 

I'm really asking what came in original. I know a 390 could not have come with a 4wd. For example.

 

You are correct that 4X4 was only available on supercabs for 78 and 79. Truck was probably a 360 or 390 stock with 4 speed or C6 automatic. If the door is original, the warranty tag would give you the info on engine/trans. Start of vin "X25" is 2wd supercab, "X26" is 4wd supercab.
