Hello
I bought a '98 Ford F150 4x4 with the 5.4L Triton, automatic. It has 153k miles on it.
Right now, I've been working on changing out all of the fluids and fixing broken things.
Here's a quick list of what I've done/replaced so far with the help of this site before I even signed up.
- Broken plastic end of shift lever
- Rough idle (deteriorated PCV rubber elbow under IACV)
- Transmission range sensor (hard to shift lever)
- Bad tensioner bearing
- Key chimes even without key in ignition
- Serpentine belt
- Engine air filter
- Engine oil
- 7 out of 8 spark plugs
Almost everything was done with the help of these forums and YouTube!
Before I put the truck on the road, I have a few more things to do.
- Automatic transmission fluid
- Brake fluid
- Power steering fluid
- Rear, front differential, transfer case fluids
- Coolant
- 1 spark plug (passenger rear. Seems to have a piece of metal in it, preventing socket from catching plug hex.)
If I'm missing anything else, please let me know!
I drive a 2004 Honda S2000 and autocross regularly as well. Looking forward to the torque from the V8!
Thanks!
