i new to the posting thing. my question is i have found a 1986 ranger 4x4 on a '82 bronco frame with a '92 mustang 5.0. the guy wants $3000 but will go down to $2100 it was professionaly built, the motor has 55,000 miles on it. there is a lift on it looks like 4in im not sure but i know 33in tires will fit the truck.there are off-road bumpers on it and a trans cooler mounted in the bed of the truck. i still think this is a little much because of all the custom stuff, but what do you guys think. is it a steal or soulds like a bust?
You're basically dealing with an '82 Bronco, that's had the motor changed. I'd go over it with a fine toothed comb, then think about it for a couple of days. Make sure it drives out ok, and then make him an offer, if you're still interested. Don't fall in love with it because it looks cool. Remember you are going to have to unscrew ($$$) all of his jerry rigging.
if the owner is willing to change that much in what he is asking and what he would take. hmm i would get really leary of the whole deal. i hate undoing messes others have left behind always a suprise with something like that. use your best judgment. you obviously have doubts about the whole thing. so ya know.
A few things to consider, If it looks too good to be true, it most likely is and you get what you pay for. Will it pass government safety inspection as well as smog inspection? How does it handle? Will it roll over in a corner? I have been bitten by the "Just gotta have it cuz it looks cool" bug too so beware, a fool and his money are soon parted, and a sucker is born every minute. Whoa! Too many catch phrases! But true!
