2016 F350 V10

Throwing up a Hail Mary here, does anyone know of a way to get the V10 in an F350 for model year 2016. I know the V10 is offered in the chassis cab configuration, but you can't easily put a pick-up bed on them. I really want a V10 in a 350. Probably not possible, but just curious if there is some "special" way to order.

Not yet and that's on my list of things to do. I just really want a V10 with more torque down low.

I hear yah. I'd check it out though. Mine is done up a little but unlike most it seems I love laying the rpm's to it. Pulling upwards of 6k out of that 6.2 just makes me grin ear to ear. From 4k up tuned with no cats it sounds like a race car. I pull a three horse bumper pull with three horses in it quite regularly(few times a week) and it has ample oomph for my needs.

I just switched back to my 03 5.4 for winter and man am I missing the 6.2 bad. In all honesty though I've never driven a v-10 but have no doubts it's a very capable motor.

I'll be checking out the 6.2L for sure. Hopefully, I can find one with 4.30 gears to test as well. I drive a V10 daily and love it. My buddy has a 6.0 chevy 2500 and loves driving my truck more than his. I need a crew cab otherwise there is no way I'd be getting rid of my truck (regular cab).

I get that the 6.2L won't work in the 450 and 550 applications, so Ford needs to keep the V10 for now. What I don't get is why they don't offer it as an option for the 250/350. For years Ford offered a V8, a V10 and a diesel. They are already building V10s and obviously they fit in the platform. My experience with the V10 has been awesome.

In the end it probably comes down to costs.

There is no way to SVO a V10 on anything so you're stuck with a F450 and up chassis.

That's what I was afraid of, but thought I'd ask anyway.

Any idea why they don't put the V10 in the 250/350 anymore?

I'm the wrong one to ask since I'm a utilitarian with trucks.

6.2 385 HP @ 5500 | 405 Torque @ 4500
6.8 362 HP @ 4750 | 457 Torque @ 3250

Fairly close specs, it's hard to justify when the 6.2 is so very capable and the 6.7 is such a sledgehammer if you need the extra power. back when the 6.8 was in the smaller trucks it was the upgrade from the 5.4 so it made a bit more sense.

V-10 is a great workhorse, but drive a 6.2 with 4:30 gears and the six speed and let it wind out. It'll bring out the kid in you.

I like my trucks utilitarian, I order XLs with a very few options. Rubber floors and vinyl seats all the way. Kind if why I like the V10, it just seems like a utilitarian workhorse. The specs are similar, but the V10 has a decent advantage on torque down lower in the RPM range.

So question then, are there standard pick-up bed options for F450 chassis cabs?

I like XL's too.
Yes, you can get an F-450 pickup. Not sure if the V10 is available with the pickup body though.

I think the only way you can get the V10 in the 450 is in the chassis cab. I'd like to find a company that installs pick-up beds or some other bed options for chassis cabs other than the usual flat bed or utility box.
