leaking transmission pan

The pan of my transmission was leaking the transmission fluid today. My neighbor says that he doesnt think it is anything bad and that i might just need to replace the gasket and change my transmission fluid while im at it. Anyone got any suggestions about it?

yeah just change the gasket ( hehe you cant help but change the fluid while your there ) make sure that there is no rust spots that will cause the new gasket to leak and dont over torque your bolts it can push your gasket out and cause it to leak.

fordman did you read my last post to your oil pressure problem....... i would be leary of that shop. i dont know if you father knows them well or what but i personally would not take much more to them. we all make mistakes but that is extreme.. just my two cents and nothing more
