Got it home last night, 4 1/2 hours road time, 3 hours dismantling in the brisk ND breeze. GB here are your grill bars and decide if you want the glass, milky around the edges and one crack.
Nice pics. Are the Black Hills visible through the cab windshield? It looks like you cut the steering column off. That speeds up the process.
Good eye, yes visible but barely in that picture, about 8 miles away. And yes, torched off the column, the guy didn't want to save the gearbox which was kind of a shame, truck only shows 33,000 and the box was tight.
There is not much demand for the big truck steering column. I have a couple of the shafts with the worm gear attached. I have them driven in the ground with solar lights slid into the hole by the gear. Although, a while back here on the forum a guy had a '40 big truck with a stripped out steering shaft nut and had the steering wheel stuck on the shaft. He was wondering what to do. The concensus was well, you are Sol.

I know, I just hate ruining parts when I dismantle, it's a pet peeve of mine when people do that. I even have coffee cans full of factory bolts because I save all them that I reasonably can when I take stuff apart. Parts like garnish moldings have all the screws in a baggie taped to the part.
Like you I hate it when I break something taking it apart. Well, maybe not jailbar grille fasteners.....Let's wait til after Thanksgiving unless you are ready to ship. I can do the paypal thing tonight. Whatever is easy for you and you'd have the $ for your trip! Gas money, yay!
Too nasty today to work ourside but hopefully before I leave Sunday I can at least have the grille section out so I can remove the bars inside. I'll let you know. I'll probably need the money more when I get home, lol. I'll keep you posted.
Will do, and the paypal as well. Getting cold here too. Got a rager going in the old wood stove and got the dogs fed so my wife can put her feet up after her usual 10 hours as a nurse. Thanks so much for the parts. I have a couple of my 'new' trucks that have to live outside and don't have windshields. Have you found the good place for windshield rubber?

I've found them on ebay and DC, probably get the DC ones. The original that came out of the 47 seemed to have a more solid center section and all seemed to be one piece. The catalog pictures show them to be 2 separate pieces without that hard rubber center. You can also get rubber to V butt the glass.
I'll probably just order all the rubber at once, everything for the doors, fender welting ect. DC also has the rubber dovetail piece for the rear doors.
