Fuel Gauge Problem
Hello Everyone,
I have been looking through the forums but I haven't been able to find anyone with the same issue.
My truck was on a 1/4 tank, drove for about 15 minutes and it gradually rose up to 3/4 of a tank. Tried shutting off and back on, back up to 3/4.
I parked the truck over night, started it up, read a 1/4 tank, and did the same thing after 15 minutes of driving.
Any ideas? Sounds like a bad sending unit. Are there any short term fixes? That wold be best as I am away from home in college.

With a diesel you might get lucky with a good diesel friendly fuel system cleaner from what I have read. It possibly can clean the varnish off of the sending unit and "fix" the gauge reading.
My 06 V10's fuel gauge quit working completely and will be replacing the fuel tank assembly when I have time to do it.... no possible easy fixes for the gas.
