Putting my engine back together. Does the tube from the oil pan to the oil pump need anything to keep it from leaking....other than just tightening the nut that holds it in the pump?
It has a gasket between the pick up tube and the oil pan, on the inside of the pan, & a small rubber tube that fits inside the pump then the pick up slids in and the fitting is tightened down on.
On the pick up tube parts numbered 6626 & 354361 appear to be on the tube before the big torque nut (6673)that fits into the pump. I do not have either of these parts and can't remember if they were there when I took the engine apart.
Even if I had them I can't see how they mate to 6673 and what good they would do.
I hope they aren't critical cuz I put the pan on yesterday and it has a lot of bolts!
6626 is the gasket you might be able to get a copper o ring to seal the tube to oil pan. 354361 is the nut that keeps the pick up from leaking at the oil pump. You wouldn't have to remove the pan to add the nut or a copper gasket but without them I can't see how it won't leak.

This is great news as I never removed the tube from the pan.
Thanks again to you and Harrier for all your attention and help.
