To All Veterans

I remember when this was a sad day for reflecting on the death and destruction of war.
When I was a boy there were still living veterans of the first world war and they would visit my school on this day and talk with tears in their eyes of what they had experienced. They did not come for us to worship them as heroes but because they sincerely wanted us not to repeat the mistakes their generation had made in going to war.
It's discouraging how like Christmas so much of our history and traditions is being re-written by evil people.
