Rear end rumble issues

Hey guys, I have a 2007 Expedition EL. A week or so ago it started this rumbling noise with a vibration that seemed to come from the rear end. It normally occurs under a slight load around 40-50 mph. I also noticed when it would do this, the rpms would spike a little. Anybody ever have this issue before? I need to get this fixed, I just need an idea of where to start.

Because the engine rpms are spiking the problem may be in the transmission. You could take the car out of overdrive at 40-50 mph and see if the symptoms still occur.
