i would like to buy THIS from craigslist. Has somebody an idea what will be the cheapest way to send it to germany
If you have gear head friends who might be having a container shipped from the U.S. to Germany filled with car parts, you could see about arranging with them to have the parts put in the container, before it ships out. --just a thought.
Wrecking yard donor front rotors are usually trash and need to be replaced. If they are no good, the rotors will add quite a bit to the suspensions shipping weight. I don't know what a new rotor would cost in Germany but here, I paid about about $35.00 dollars each for the new rotors when I switched to front discs on my '69 F100.
The easiest way would to know someone here in the states that can work with you on buying and shipping it to you. With how the internet is now days. if you call the guy with the parts and say you want to buy them but your out of the U.S they might think it's fraudulent spam going on. Or would be understanding but the shipping part can turn them off as well. Possibly look into shipping carriers and see if they can help make the deal. Any way you go about it I think it will be hard to make it happen. Good luck on it maybe a local forum member could try working with you on buying it.
Well, someone on the east coast (of the US) would be our best bet since it's closer to Germany.....
Second, are you just wanting to do a disc swap? Then the bare minimum needed are the disc spindles since the rotors, calipers, and bearings would likely need to be replaced anyway. Assuming reuse of your existing parts, the springs, I-beams, and radius arms would be just extra weight (and cost).
^ your right the spindle is the key part for the disc brake swap. I would think the rest of the parts he could find there to finish the swap. Or be able to be shipped easier then I beams and all. Just make sure you got the matching size kingpins and spindles.
Thanks for your opinion. I think about it, to come next spring to us and buy a truck in a good condition and all parts i need, lokal. This would be much cheaper than shipping part after part..... Maybe I can find a cheap junk truck and take only the good parts on the bed of the good truck.
Hey guys. i have to say sorry for my bad english. I learned about 35 years ago at school. But after 35 years drinking beer i forgot the most of them
You might investigate using a Logistics company. Wouldn't be the cheapest way probably but may be the Best way. There is a lot involved with shipping stuff both out of our country and in another country. Customs, duties, etc. I have a company in Australia that I sell Ford,GM, and Dodge parts to. They use this logistics company below to handle the headaches of the bigger shipments. As Hio said, one on the east coast might be better but I suggest contacting Ashley. If she/they can't help to Germany maybe she knows a sister company that works off the east coast.
