I have acquired a 1996 factory service manual. Will this manual work for my 1999 diesel or are there differences between the years
While both years share parts that serve the same function, most of them are different and many are not interchangeable. You would be better off with a manual that is more specific to your year model.

i have to agree with Roland, while it will help you with basics, there are enough differences that if it were mine, i would get the proper 99-03 manuals.
