1967 ford Camper special with reverse problem

Hello all, I have a newly purchased 1967 Camper special (352) with a reverse issue. It has no reverse. None. It shifts fine into N, D, 1, and 2 and back to P but when put into reverse....nothing. No noise or response. Any suggestions or ideas is greatly appreciated.

Not trying to be a smart alek but it appears reverse has simply went out. or possible a pawl or other small part has broke inside. When you put in reverse, do you feel the selector doing anything when putting it in reverse. If you feel nothing, then something having to do with the internal shift linkage may be broken. If you do feel it sliding into reverse, it's likely just went on on you. I had the opposite happen to me on a Crown Vic. Could feel it go in reverse, which worked but nothing in the forward gears.

I might add, my riding lawnmower did the same this past summer and it was a broken pawl (admittedly I was a bit rough on it, lol)

no reverse

Drop the pan and you may luck out if the reverse band linkage fell off. Or it may be a broken or worn out band or servo arm then it is time for a rebuild.
Good Luck

Thanks, I was in denial at first that it was a cry isomeric and had hoped for C4 or C6. After finding the tag however, I have come to the realization that it is what it is. I will drop the pan as you suggest first chance and keep you updated😞

Well I dropped the pan and did not find any parts. The filter however looked like the oem from when it rolled off the line. A thick dark sludge (approx 3/8" thick) was on the bottom of the pan.
