Hey guys, what do you do to your trucks to prepare for winter? Lights, tires, plow etc.

A full chassis and inner panel bath in Krown rust inhibitor coating. Then remove the brand new chrome running boards and install the sheet chrome peeling junk originals(peeling at 3 years old).
Coolant system test for specific gravity(ratio of water to coolant) and PH test for acidity. Hows the serpentine belt and hoses? When is the last time the TStat was changed (use only Motorcraft TStat)?
Look at the radiator fins for debris. Look at the tires for tread wear and adjust the air PSI. Spare too.
Check all connections for the starting/charging system down to the starter and the plow set up too. Make sure they are clean & tight then spray battery terminal protectant on each. Load test the batteries.
Inspect and grease the front outer UJoints. This should be done at every oil change.
What fluids need changing? Trans/diffs/xfer case/brake sys???
If you have a block heater test it.
Winter wiper blades and fluid.
Put winter survival gear in cab or in the box in a box...blanket, flares, heat packs, tow chain/straps shovel flash light, jumper cables etc...
Test the hubs for ease of function disassemble clean and re-grease if questionable.
Fuel additives for diesel and change the fuel filters, dry gas for gasoline(Castles double dry) change the filter here as well if accessible.
Did I miss anything?

In cases of extreme emergency, the Wild Turkey can also keep your windshield washer fluid from freezing up

Not a thing. Southwest Florida winter prep is,- one palm tree (for shade), one comfortable chair and a good bottle of scotch.
Winter you gotta love it.
You don't have to shovel sunshine.

Can't imagine a situation that was dire enough to warrant doing it, but isn't dire enough to warrant drinking the whole thing...

You know what I find amusing about windshield washer fluid is that they sell -45 Celcius fluid. Anyone ever needed to wipe the slush off your windshield at that temperature. I can verify that you will not get any road spray from about -30 on up here at least. -45 C is -49 F for you americans.

I believe 12-15 ohms at the blades of the block heater plug is normal. Plug it in and listen for a sizzle near driver front wheel well. The cords frequently go bad right at the plug and short out.

What winter tires are you guys running? I have Discover AT3's and I swear they are the biggest gimmick/hype ever. They suck in rain/snow! I need some new tires.

Also, I would add 4 60lb sand bags in the bed of the pickup for better traction.

I undercoat in Fluid Film and lube the hubs. Usually takes 1.5 gallons to coat everything.

I mix wd40 and tranny fluid in a spray bottle and coat everything that's metal under the truck. I do this in spring too.
