Have a 2010 F250 SD 4X4 CC diesel pulling a 5th wheel trailer. I'm considering changing the drum brakes on the trailer to disc brakes. My question is: will the factory installed brake controller work with the hydraulic/electric actuator? The few posts on other sites I've read all dealt with older trucks and they use the Prodigy aftermarket controller. Thanks in advance
Since problems with hydraulic trailer brakes and Ford TBCs were somewhat common, even with controllers which were verified, if this is something you are really interested in, you might want to contract the manufacturer of the brakes.
My 2015 SD has the option for both electric or electric over hydraulic brakes. Not sure if this is just a software upgrade or if there is hardware involved as well. It's probably easier to buy an aftermarket controller.
