What are these things

Hey guys can u tell me what these are and or what they do. Was,just cleaning seat and noticed them.

They are extra support for you seat. It looks like yours are disconnected from the seat track tie bar.
Found it in the book. They are called the Damper Assembly.

They are supposed to take some of the bounce out of the seat. First came on 1953 trucks. I don't know how well they work. Mine were broken when I bought my truck but I have two that I got in a junkyard and plan on putting them on when I re-do my seat.

They are a set of mechanical knee dampers. A frictional damper, same function like the ones used on earlier Fords, however smaller, and they looks disconnected

Thanks for the info guys. I thought they were a damper but was not sure
