Drive Train Vibration
I own a 2000 Ranger 2.5L 4 cyl, 2WD, Auto w/42000 miles. I am hearing (and feeling in the steering wheel) a slight vibration coming from the drive train at certain speeds. The noise almost resembles an exhaust leak (checked system-no apparent leak). It begins about 30-35, stops until I get to about 45-60 and goes away at 70. The universals are not "clunking". All of the wheel balance weights seem to be in place. Could this be a driveshaft balance problem (no accidents or large bumps), a wheel balance problem (original tires) or a universal joint problem?
