Carb swaped hesitation
So my truck is a carb swaped 1990 302 5 speed f250
Im have hesitation when i first give it gas from a dead stop
Carb is a edelbrock 1406
Any Advice on what to try to reduce the hesitation?
It has an electric fuel pump for the carb and uses a stock 302 intake from older ford 302s

Throw that carb in the circular file(sorry, just my opinion of those things). I'm a Holley guy.
With it not running look down the throat and work the linkage. Does it give a nice strong shot instantly? There are 2-3 different holes you can adjust the linkage for more/less shot size/duration
Are the idle mixture screws set properly? 1 1/2 turns out, then in til rpm starts to drop off, then back out 1/4 turn.

So lets get some more information first.
Did you do the swap? What did you use for a distributor, ignition system? Fuel pressure regulator? Any adapters or spacers in the setup?
Is the hesitation affected by hot/cold conditions? any other performance issues?
Off the top of my head things to look at:
dirty air filter
dirty fuel filter
Carb properly installed & tuned
fuel regulator
vacuum leak
ignition timing
