Well not much news to add but I did try to check codes on my truck with a jumper wire. I tried to decode it even with help from my father but we couldn't figure it out. Instead I read good reviews on the digital OBD1 reader tester so I picked that up for $30. I did the key on engine off test and it said "11" which means all systems normal I think. I have to read more into it but I believe there are tests it will do with engine running.
Have not replaced fuel or air filter yet, wanted to see what these codes were so I could make one trip to get parts.
Dropping a Cummins in there would be awesome, I wish it were as easy as 1,2,3!
