What are these?

Can anyone tell me what these are?

One is attached to the ignition coil, and the other is attached to the voltage regulator.

They look similar, but have different plugs so I assume have different part numbers.
In searching online I have seen the following terminology referencing them (resistor, capacitor, noise reducer...). I have found some items under capacitor that look similar, but the selection is huge and I couldn't find anything htat had a plug to match the one bolted to the ignition coil....I want to make sure I replace these with the correct replacement part.

Any help would be very appreciated! Thanks!!!

they are small bullet looking items, with one wire coming out of the point of the tip.

Condensors aka capacitors, to prevent radio interference - alternator whine, distributor crackling, whatever.

I took the one off the coil to try to clean the end of it and see a part number and when I did the wire simply broke off, so now I definily need to replace it. Looking at the part number it looks like it is no longer available.

can anyone tell me of a current replacement part that meets/exceeds the specs of the original?

Thanks!!

I wouldn't worry about it unless you hear noise in your radio. Only the V8's got them, so they weren't "necessary". However, if you decide you need one head to the salvage.

You can still buy those. Check out Dearborn Classics, Autokrafters, etc,.....

Here's one from Tony Branda:

Remember years ago not only would the signal interfere with your radio but while watching TV I knew when my next door neighbor came and went.
