One is attached to the ignition coil, and the other is attached to the voltage regulator.
They look similar, but have different plugs so I assume have different part numbers.
In searching online I have seen the following terminology referencing them (resistor, capacitor, noise reducer...). I have found some items under capacitor that look similar, but the selection is huge and I couldn't find anything htat had a plug to match the one bolted to the ignition coil....I want to make sure I replace these with the correct replacement part.
Condensors aka capacitors, to prevent radio interference - alternator whine, distributor crackling, whatever.
I took the one off the coil to try to clean the end of it and see a part number and when I did the wire simply broke off, so now I definily need to replace it. Looking at the part number it looks like it is no longer available.
can anyone tell me of a current replacement part that meets/exceeds the specs of the original?
I wouldn't worry about it unless you hear noise in your radio. Only the V8's got them, so they weren't "necessary". However, if you decide you need one head to the salvage.
