Air intake advise

Hi
I would like some advise on the use of the "Open element type airfilters" sometimes called performance air intakes like Tymar, AFE, K&n, Ect.
Would it take longer to warm the engine? On cold winter days!
Wouldn't you need to draw air from outside the factory air box?
What systems you had luck with!

I have the AFE and no it doesn't take longer to warm up. My box draws air from the grill next to the radiator.

Do a Thread search, key word "Tymar". You will read some excellent articles on the subject of airbox modifications.
