I have a dual fan from a Ford car. It's got three wires, ground, hot for low speed, and hot for high speed. I've seen thermostats that turn power on and off and those that variably control the speed of the fan. What's the easiest way to create a setup where the fan is always on low and then kicks to high at a certain temp. Stuff like, running for 30 sec after the truck is off and coming on when the A/C is turned on would be a plus.
It came out of a Ford Contour. Don't know the year. It fits nicely along the top, driver's side, and bottom. The passenger side has a 2-3 inch gap off the radiator and extends about 3 inches past it. I'm going to try and fabricate a side piece. I found a website with info on setting up a two speed fan with a thermostat. Once it is all in it should switch to high via switch, temp, or the A/C compressor coming on. The only thing missing will be a delay after start up and it running 30 sec or so after stopping.
I was talking to the guy who gave me the fan the other day and he said he was mistaken about which vehicle it came out of. The fan was out of a Lincoln Continental. He was unsure of the vehicle's year though.
