at idle when i put the gas pedal to the floor it kind of sticks at 2500 RPMS and then goes up all the way. it is the same way in first gear, if i get on it it pauses at about 2500 RPMS and then goes up. do any of your trucks do this?

95 powerstroke 5 spd with 3.55 rear end

First of all, Yes this is normal. When you notice the "stick at 2500 RPM" is the lap in engine power and the turbo being fully engaged. On the "older" non-electronic, non-turboed 7.3's that is where you ran completley out of power. As for the advise you recieved on not taking the engine that high. Do not worrie about the rpm,s on the powerstroke. The engine is completley protected by the ecm on {oil, temp, rpm, plus more} International has also used this engine for generators and have them turning an amazing 4000+ RPM's. P.S. The "powerstroke" is made by International trucks.
