Question of the Week: Which 2017 Super Duty Engine Would You Pick?
We dont know the power levels, but we know that the next generation Super Duty will have enhanced versions of the 6.2L V8, the 6.8L V10 and the 6.7L PowerStroke V8.
Without knowing anything more than the fact that they will be improved over the current engine options, which engine would you pick if you were ordering as soon as the order bank opens?

Kind of apples to oranges... But here's a little piece I found about the 2017s.
The 6.8-liter V10 is still around (but only available for chassis cab F-450/F-550), the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 gets more torque (probably enough to best the 900 pound-feet from the 2016 Ram 3500’s Cummins power plant), and the E85-capable 6.2-liter gas V8’s fuel economy, horsepower, and torque numbers go up.
the current 6.8 makes 362 horsepower and 457 lb.-ft. of torque. That might go unchanged for 2017. and with the HP & Tq of the 6.2 going up higher than the current 385/405, it will be breathing down the neck of the V10s torque numbers. The 6.2 already has more HP.
The 6.8 v10 is more of a severe-duty/static load engine. The 6.8 Makes more sense with a heavy custom chassis box, but that's it.. If your EVER Unloaded, or half-loaded, the 6.2 wins every time. If your close to MAXED out, EVERY day, then the 6.8 will handle the torture better without killing itself as quickly.. The 6.8 is really not about performance anymore, just longevity, and a tiny little extra bit of Tq to get the extra weight rollin'.
