Hey, Dipstick

I am a new member and I will be posting pics of my 75 F150 Ranger XLT 390 soon. I was curious if anyone here can help me out, my dad recently checked my transmission fluid and left the dipstick out, then drove off losing the dipstick. I have called around(autozone, fordparts, lmctrucks) and can't seem to find a replacement. I was hoping someone on here could measure the length of their dipstick and the markings on the dipstick so I could get myself a universal and rig it. Thanks

This was a Ford dealer only part originally, so you won't find it at any auto parts store. AFAIK, it's not reproduced.

D5TZ-7A020-C .. A/T Dipstick / Stamped with ID number: D5TP-7A020-CA / Obsolete

Applications: 1975 F100/350 360/390 C6.

NOS PARTS LTD in Waxahachie TX has 1 = 972-937-2201.

OBSOLETE RELIABLE PARTS in Nashville GA has 1 = 229-686-5101.

When dad checked it how was the fluid level? If it was good just throw a dipstick in there and file a mark at the level of fluid and problem solved.

Dad's in his 80's, said he thinks it was a little low but cant remember. I was just hoping someone here would have a similar vehicle. If not Ill just change the fluid soon and measure it then.

I went and got a measurement off one. The number stamped on mine is D7TP-74020-DA. From the lid to the bottom is 25 and 3/4 inches. The full mark is 2 inches from the bottom. It has a 1/2" safe range and from 1 and a 1/2 down to 3/4 is the add section.

Why would you bother with inaccurate measurements, buying a universal dipstick and rigging something up, when Number Dummy has practically laid the absolute correct NOS dipstick in your lap? At this point, to do anything other that buying it would be, IMO, a real "dipstick" move! LOL!
