Need advice wether or not to buy this 2001 F-250 7.3L
Hello, I'm new to this but I need to know if this truck I'm looking at is a good deal or not. I'm looking at a 2001 F-250 Powerstroke XLT Super cab with 164k miles on it. There is a cold air intake, and a tuned ECU. He wants $10,000 but the truck also needs new tires since winter is fast approaching. Any advice is more than appreciated!

It could be a good deal, especially if it has been maintained relatively well and the rust is at a minimum, (subjective, depending upon what area of the country you're in). Here's a buyers guide FAQ list: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...questions.html
4x4 or 4x2? Tell us more about it and where you are located. Good luck!

There is some rust, I live in Michigan so I expected that, but it's minimal. It's 4x4

If it were me I would spend the $200 and have a Diesel shop due a compression test. With good compression you have a sound base and everything else can be fixed. Not to mention the "piece of mind factor".
Example: just the other day I had a guy at work tell me how Walmart ruined his Cummins motor buy filling it with over 30 quarts of oil (yeah, he's a dumba$$ for taking it there). The next shift came in and thought it had been drained and put in another 16 Qts and sent it out the door. Pulling his trailer it started smoking and it was all over. He traded it in so some poor sap will end up with it.
