Hey all, this is my first post in the 6.7 section. I have a new to me 2011 6.7 that may need a new hpfp and injectors, what is required to swap and run the 2015 pump and injectors? Would it be worth it to swap them or just keep it stock style? Any insite is helpfull.
Ill give as much background to the problem as I know. Truck has 118000km, dealer swapped in a used motor about 40000km ago. PO said it got water in fuel and quite running, out of warranty so he parked it. I drained half a cup of water from filter, dropped the tank and cleaned the crud out, put new filters and fuel in. Cranking I only get 1500psi rail pressure. And if I let the lift pump run awhile the engine cranks hard like a cylinder fills with fuel.
As to the pump, it will just bolt right in place of the 11-14 pump and work. Not real sure on the injectors. Lot of guys are running the '15 pumps on their 11-14 trucks for performance upgrades.
So today I pulled number 2,4,6, and 8 glow plugs, ran the lift pump a couple times then turned the motor over by hand. Fuel came pouring out of 6 and 8 holes. Injectors must stuck open, so I figure I'm replacing the injectors, lines, rails, and hpfp. I pulled the cp4 off and took the heads and pistons off, found lots of rust and scoring in pump and IPR.
I would atleast swap to the '15 pump. You are already there, there is no price difference, and if desired, all you would need is more air in the future if you wanted more power.

I thought about doing the turbo swap as well but right now it's not a priority, and it is really easy to get to the turbo so I can do it later if need be. I ordered the pump kit for a 2011-2014, I would like to do the 2015 pump but that means order it all separate which is 2k more than ordering the kit. The 2015 kit has no stock and is back ordered at the dealer, and I don't know for sure the 2015 lines and injectors will work. I'm worried the tips might have a different spray pattern and wouldn't work with my pistons, unless someone can tell me different.
I'm also trying to decide if i'm putting the egr back on, so many tuners and prices i'm not sure which one to go with. I have a scangauge2 and torque app, but would they monitor everything a tuner display would?
Where are you buying the kit? Just curious. I found it on Autonation Ford White Bear Lake for $3130.61. That's not terrible. I was kinda shocked it's that cheap.
