Pretty sure I have a frame warp -- after installing new front springs, the driver's side is about inch and a half closer to the rubber bumper than the passenger side and the spring is almost flat. It was that way with the old springs installed too. I checked with the alignment shop I always use (the only one in town that you can trust) and they said they would be glad to look at it. They have every lift rig and laser alignment doo-dad ever made, so I'd like to be able to give them the stock frame measurements/spec.s as something for comparison. I tried searching but could only come up with the factory measurements for general ride height, lengths & widths -- nothing specific to the frame. Is there such a thing? -- would be grateful for any help. Thanks.
The frames on these trucks are very symmetrical. Your frame shop just needs some basic datum measurements to base from. They can figure out the rest with a tape measure and tram gauge. This should give them everything they need.
These frames were built to twist and bend over bumps, ditches and whatever a farmer, garage owner, construction crew could throw at them - Most roads were mud and high crowned, there weren't many malls in those days - You can expect to be in the range that you have now
It's the character of the Trucks

Thanks 52 Merc and Harleyman, that's exactly what I was looking for, especially the bare frame measurements. On the bushings and pins for the springs -- they had obviously been well lubricated and I couldn't see any wear. The fit was so tight I had to drive the pins out and in, carefully of course but with authority as they say. The hangers were symmetrical, couldn't see any distortions or differences between them ... but full disclosure, I didn't take the calipers to anything during the process. The springs came assembled and the shackles seemed tight, but I didn't torque the nuts, and didn't see anything obviously bent but again, admittedly, I was so expecting that the problem was just a weakened spring that I didn't do any measurments -- wish I had now, may need to bite the bullet on a do-over. The more I find out about this, the more it looks like going through everything and rebuilding item by item. After the frame is righteous. Thanks again, gentlemen, will report on the tale of the lasers.
