Okay i have a 66 ford. Were are currently painting it red but i cant deside what i should do witht he bumpers and grill. We were thinking just painting them white would look ok. But i would like to have CHROME. Does anyone know what years will fit it. Because i know where several early 70's trucks are, and i was thinking maybe they would fit.
THe front bumper fits from 64 -77 on Ford trucks, so finding a chrome one shouldn't be a problem. The grille was offered in stainless for 65-66 and you see them on Ebay now and then, but pricey.
Not stainless, anodized aluminum.
This was available from at least '63 thru '66, though every year is slightly different in appearance.
You can also get a painted steel one chromed.
I just sold a '63 aluminum grille for $100, which I don't think is expensive at all.
I have 2 nice 1963 grills - I tried to put one of them on the beat-up original front end on my 64, only to find out (AFTER I got the 64 one off ) the bottom bolt holes weren't in anywhere near the same place on the splash apron (they were off by about 3" each, it wasn't just an alignment problem). The top holes and screws behind the headlight trim lined up fine. I'd take a tape measure to the bolts on the bottom of your grill to make sure they line up with the new one if you start looking at ones from the 63-64's.
My 63 is a Unibody, and I know the other 63 grill I have was also from a unibody; the 64 is a standard long-bed. I don't know if that makes a difference or not... It shouldn't, but then again there 'shouldn't' have been a difference between these two from what I've been told. Has anyone else had any year interchange problems with the grills?
