Need new header gasket
Please see latest post....
------
I KNOW the RIGHT answer, but am looking for alternatives.
I had my shop install JBA shorty headers June 2012 with OEM studs/nuts along with Fel-pro gasket.
I started getting the tick back so this morning I reached into the passenger side well with her running. I felt around and the forward point of the #1 cylinder I felt some exhaust escaping. So I ran my finger around the header flange and the gasket crumbled! Now I have full exhaust coming out of that point at the flange.
Truck only sees about 3,000 miles per year, and from November to March does about 100-200 miles is all, so if I can do something low cost, I'm on it! Even if I have to do it annually. Body has less than 1% rust, frame is not looking so good so I'm not sure how long she will be on the road (sniff sniff).
Seriously contemplating packing with JB Weld stick or better the liquid/paste.
thoughts?
