Next the OP will be looking for the rubber pad that goes in the cubby. Then 5 others will say they never knew there was supposed to be a rubber pad in that cubby and want one too.

I knew it was supposed to be there, but until now, I thought it would be rude to ask.... Anyone have an extra laying around?
I ordered my Excursion new. When it came in, I noticed the missing cubby bin mat...and the console mat. I ordered them at the parts department and they've been in every since. I also put a hood pad in at the same time. Now the ashtray insert? I wondered what the space was for...but never knew until a month or so ago that it was for an ashtray...

Your new X didn't come with the pad, center console pad, or under hood blanket? Did someone steal them when the X came in? That seems weird.

Nope...came with none of those. At the time, I worked with the dealer where I ordered the Excursion. When it arrived, I got pics of it before it was prepped...ya know with the plastic and styrofoam on it. I took delivery the day it arrived. I suppose those items could've simply been missed..who knows...
Anyhow, when I asked about these things (remember this is 10 years ago) I seem to remember that someone found that they were no longer standard in 2005. (I took delivery in January of 2005) When I tried to order in the parts department, they didn't show for a 2005, so we ordered for a 2004. I also added an underhood light at the same time.
10 years later, maybe the part #s have been updated, etc...I only know what happened back then.

Is your EX an XLT? I had thought that the trim level was the factor that excluded those items as my '05 XLT (that isn't heavily optioned) also lacked all 3 of those things, but maybe you are right and it's just another example of Ford letting the EX fade away at the end of it's production run.

Mine is an XLT....I ordered it with everything short of leather and the rear DVD player.
I wanted the chrome bumpers, etc so XLT was the top for me. Interestingly, the foglights were not available at all on XLT and the base model. I also installed the factory foglights.
