I was wondering if there is a fuse or something that can stop the OBD2 port from getting power. If there is where is it on a 2000 limted 4x4 7.3L. Please help. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the help Stewart . I was a little frustrated when I posted. I teally need to relax before I post something that I really should have been able to figure out. you guys are the best for helping out even when I am being less than patient .
Yep, it's the cig lighter fuse. Dumb but.. easy fix.
Experienced the exact same thing when testdriving an ex a couple years ago and wanting to hook up my scanner to the OBD2 port.
I bet he will now. After mine went out I have a large pack of fuses in the glove box.
You are absolutely correct. I went and got a large 40 fuse pack that fits very well in my centet console. I will be switching the fuse out as soon as I finish a few things around the house. I will update as soon as it is fixed.
I've noticed with my project Ex (knee deep in wiring) that there are quite a few circuits that share fuses that really have no logical reason to be doing so. The thought has crossed my mind more than once to just rewire the whole thing my way. The only thing that stops me from doing so is that I'd have to rewire the dash as well- and there really isn't nothing wrong with my dash harness.
