HELP - 95 F150 5 speed Clutch Pedal Problem

On the way to work today when shifting the clutch pedal on my 95 f150 6cyl 5spd went to the floor with a snapping sound and stayed there. I can pull it up by hand but it snaps back to the floor under pressure. I can not engage the clutch.

First, does anyone have an idea of what the problem may be?

Second, can I limp home by timing the shift points and changing gears with out the clutch without damaging anything?

Do you have the super duty, extra secret, F-150 with the 6.8 liter V-10 ? There's a tranny/clutch/driveline forum here on the FTE site. This forum is strictly for conversations about the V-10.

Ken,

No, I do not have the "super duty, extra secret, F-150 with the 6.8 liter V-10". I caught the error after the post and reposted in the 87-95 truck forum.

I did a search on clutch and did not notice that the new thread buttom was on a "super duty, extra secret, F-150 with the 6.8 liter V-10" forum message.

By the way.
What does extra secret mean?

Sorry for the protocol violation. You can delete this one.

I am fond of my trucks, but you were starting to worry me with the extra secret thing.

A sense of humor is a great thing to share.

If I want even worse gas milage I will check out the v10.

Well of the 8 or 9 Fords I've had in the past couple decades I had one that didn't get 10-12 mpg, it was a 95 F-150 with the 300 c.i. 6 cylinder with the Mazda 5 speed. I loved that truck, just loved it. But it was a s/c and my kids at the time were much smaller than they are now (funny how that happens huh?) so we had to upgrade. I also went from a 19' travel trailer to a 24' so the 4.9 liter, even though it had plenty of power, it had 3.08 gears in the rear, wouldn't comfortably tow all of us around with the trailer behind her. So we went to a 97 PSD crew cab. But, things change and a van was in my future, so I went to an E-150 and then to a E-350 which I'm in now. I have got 15 mpg in my V-10 on a good day, but normal mpg is, yep, 12. So it doesn't matter what I have, I get 12, that's how it is. I've resigned myself to it.

Pa150 4x4 coldnt find you in other forum. to . yes you can drive it home if you can speed shift without grinding have done it many times with diff. trannys sounds like the presure plate springs might be bad try to depress the pedal just far enough to disengage and see if it still does it.
