Wheeling @ PINS!

First, let me apologize for not sending out invitations. The wife and I were down to Rockport to visit some old friends and decided to pack some gear and test out the FJ.
Second, that no Ford trucks were salted or sanded in this adventure.

I am not a huge fan of the coast but there few really good remote adventure things to do that don't involve seeing other people all day. OK ever since High School I have wondered what happened down in the 4wd zone past the ranger station south of SPID.

So perfect, work didn't work out in just a way that we could do it. Big moon, offshore winds, low humidity, cool evenings and RED TIDE.

My research had indicated RED TIDE but we were not fishing so what the hell. Stopped at the ranger station for advice and advice was DON'T GO. Her main point was that a billion dead hardheads will kill all of your tires.

That Red Tide crap will make a fella snot up like a sumbitch. We were pretty sick at times but in the FJ we were good so we pressed on. After taking a break for high tide we pressed on till almost dark. Camped around mile 41 just before dark.

We awoke to a flat left front, curssed I had promised the wife that we would head back at first tire failure. So we failed but we had a hell of a lot of fun and adventure. The trip back was at low tide and I knew I had learned a lot

.
