My new Rig!

Well I finally got my new rig yesterday. Been wanting one for awhile and came across one by accident. 03' X 6.0 PSD has 194k miles. Interior is I great shape. So pumped! Once I found the truck I searched out and found you guys here. What are a few "must" have upgraded. I've read about the Bulletproof and if needed I'll do that later. I'm referring to filters, exhaust things like that. Don't think I want to chip it because it seems to have a lot of power now. Thanks!

OOhh, wedgewood blue!

Read all the Folders at the top of the page The ones in RED..."READ FIRST", there is an exam that you need to pass before you complete any additional modifications.

Welcome to FTE.

Nice clean truck! On your immediate, and I mean immediate, to do list is to go get a motorcraft oil filter AND a new original from Ford oil filter cap.

The tall oil filter cap that is on your rig right now is one of the worst things you can have on a 6.0. I don't understand why dealers continue to do this crap - only to save 3 bucks...

My thoughts exactly. Get rid of that oil filter cap!

Also, is that green coolant I see? If so, you absolutely must flush your coolant and replace with the appropriate coolant from Ford (red or even gold).

Nice rig and welcome to the best Excursion forum out there. You will find a wealth of knowledge in here and don't forget to check out the 6.0 section. Definitely get rid of that oil cap. It's the first thing I noticed when looking at your engine bay picture.

Welcome to the family! Once you have that 6.0 dialed in, there is nothing better IMO, although I am bias, as I too have an 03 6.0

There are some definite opinions about green coolant, you might want to read up on that. and I can't tell from the pic, but has someone spliced into the turbo sensor line? The previous owner had installed a smoke switch on mine, and it was the first thing I got rid of after buying the Ex. I just don't get the appeal of rolling coal...

Interesting to see the cool side charge pipe heat wrapped, I wonder if that actually helps in any way.

Good luck with the new purchase!
