Cracking lifters
I have a problem, I recently had a new engine installed in my truck after someone poured sugar in the tank and I had it for a week after the new engine was installed, when I was hearing a lifter going bad. I took it in, being that it was still under warranty and they put a new lifter in the engine with in 30 minutes while the engine was warming up the same lifter cracked.
What would be causing this to be happing??
Any help would be great..

Cracking lifters
That's a new one on me. Normally the lifter's internal valve will fail or the pushrod will bend before a lifter breaks. If the lifter bore was way out of size the lifter could jam, but that would be visable on installation. Maybe the engine rebuilder has some defective lifters? For the past 16 months solid and hydraulic lifters have been real scarce due to the major supplier being seized by their banks and ceasing production.
