Got more goodies from Riffraff today and it got me thinking about just how much I rely on them and the excellent service I get. So this is a bragging rights/Thank you to Riffraff.
New stuff.
Those shock stickers always scare me a bit. I don't think I've ever seen one survive shipping. But everything inside was fine. no doubt due to the serious packing on Riffraffs part. Seriously could have sent a carton of eggs with it and all would have been fine.
Mmmm...has that new transcooler smell.
The other box has the oil cooler, seals, injector cups, and quite possibly the prettiest tool I currently own. I'm a junkie when It comes to weapons and tools so yeah, I was never going to do the rental thing.
Granted not every thing I've done to my excursion came from Riffraff, but the large majority of it has. I've got diesel sites coolant filter & Hpop, and driven diesel regulated return, but a close look under the hood and its Riffraff that clearly dominates... if you lean over far enough to notice the billet intakes. It took awhile when I first got my EX to figure out the what, who, how & where.
Now when it's time to work on the next piece of the project, my first stop is Riffraff.
Clay does sell a lot of stuff that can be used on non-diesels rigs.

Aint nobody will be able to ever top me unless they buy one of Clay's race trucks or his currect "company" truck. Nope, aint possible.
That little $20-ish part allows you to grease your front wheel bearings, via the ABS sensor hole. Thus extending service life via purging contaminants suspended in the old grease. Or, just replacing grease that has been washed away prematurely and for no good reason, causing your wheel bearing to seize on the freeway at 80mph and almost rolling your rig over due to the violent swerving while on a cross country road trip. In turn, requiring you to spend a night in a hotel and hope to God that the shop you found to replace it doesn't gouge your wallet to death with the repair bill. Turns out, $20-ish is indeed far FAR cheaper than $490 combined hotel and repair bill.
Not that I have any first hand experience with this...
Since Stewart just had to go and ruin this for everybody... Lol.
My list isn't that huge, but short of the exhaust, tuner, and injectors everything else on my Excursion came from Clay.... Turbo upgrade, intake, entire gauge setup, CVD fittings and banjo bolts, upgraded boots, FRx, HPX.
I think Riffraff makes and sells high quality stuff. When I took my HPx out of the box, I thought about hanging it on the wall instead of putting it in my truck.... it's that nice. I think it's great to have a shop that is still innovating on our old 7.3s. I know Clay is on here, so if he comes across this .... hopefully he takes it as 'constructive' criticism. I think Riffraff is way understaffed for the volume they do. I think they need to greatly improve customer service and communication. I think when something is out of stock, the website should be up to date enough to indicate it is out of stock. I think when you call there during business hours and they can't answer the phone, they should get back to you in an hour, or maybe two ( not the next day, or day after.... or.... ). I think if they have a messaging service through their website when you place an order, they should actually use it when you ask questions through it.
One example I had happen..... Placed an order for parts since I had to empty out my valley. Ten days later my order arrives (had it shipped ground) and I discover then that apparently the plenum inserts were on back order. If Clay had just let me know before my order shipped I would have A) Still been a happy customer because he told me they were out, and B) Most likely would have justified spending the extra money on a set of his billet intake plenums...... since I only wanted to dig into my valley once in the foreseeable future. Instead I have neither and I'm completely cheesed that now I will have to do it a second time.
Would I buy from Riffraff again ? Sure, as long as I was in absolutely NO hurry to get the truck running again. Like I said, they sell high quality parts. Would I buy from Riffraff again if the same parts are available at a similar price elsewhere ? Probably not.

Flame on......
Why would you get flamed? We messed up and inventory must have been off or else it wouldn't have let you purchase the product. Almost without exception we do not ship incomplete orders and just "backorder" it. You should have received notification if we were out, and we have had inserts in stock for several months now. We provide the best service we can and are always striving to do better, but that doesn't mean we don't make mistakes. If this is a current order shoot us an email and we can fix it for you. If you are after constructive criticism I would prefer you get ahold of us directly as it would have faster results. I don't have any emails, website messages etc mentioning this issue happening recently so maybe it is in the spring when we fell behind from our son being born a month early.
