Front Jump Seat
I've seen them for sale from time to time on flea-bay. It's claimed that they bolt directly into the centre console mounts.
If it is that simple I'm tempted to buy one.
All in all, my truck is still going strong - two trips to Perisher Valley this year - the turbo loves the mountain air!
If so, yes it is just a bolt on replacement. All the XL models came as 6 seaters to Aus IIRC.
It may impact your registration if/when you sell the truck with 6 seats, if it is listed by the RTA as 5 seater (I know it does in Victoria, requires an engineering cert I believe, don't know about other states), but apart from that, very straight forward change.
You're right. After fitting the next thing will be the rego change, from a 5 seater to a 6 seater.
I'll have to make a few enquiries about that. After reading some pretty pointed posts on this forum I will definetely ensuring the numbers match for rego & seating.
I'll post some pics once it's in.
from above, jump seat frame. I made the front mounts from some RSJ riveted to the floor & bolted to the frame. Just clears the handbrake
From above, base cushion down
folded down, cup holders and storage area lid down
Jump seat deployed
Handbrake - tight fit but operational without hinderance
Integrated seatbelt - the orange colour means there'll never be a mix up during normal operations
Depress button to fold down
Top storage area. Sadly the top lid was cracked during shipping
There is 'secret storage' inside the frame - enough for a ski parker, binnoculars, first aid kit, & handy tea towel
This makes me think about getting one for myself, but then I would lose my big storage box with is full of crap, and where would I put my crap then.
Nice work mate.

Looking at my rego papers there is no indication for the number of seats. But on the Fo Mo Co compliance plate it says 5 seats. I expect that I'll have to get an Engineer certificate to get an updated compliance plate & not use 6 seats until I do.
I managed to fit all the crap I had in my old cubby-box either under the jump seat base cushion, or in the top storage trays. Essentially I haven't got any further room for 'excess crap' - that's the crap you have on top of 'normal crap'.
