My 97 7.3 F250 4x4 with 200,000 K tends to wander a bit on the road. Stepping on the brakes makes it pull to the right. I know road crown plays a part here but my other two cars and the GMC I just sold didn't act this way on the road. I'm not that familiar with the front end on these trucks but have checked out the tie rods and such. They seem to be OKIt has good rubber all the way around. What is the usual thing at this mileage that is looking to be replaced? Bushings, ball joints, steering box?
If the truck pulls to the right, I would check the brakes out. If you have a stuck front left caliper, it would do that, also, a failing rear brake cylinder could cause the same thing. That part is often over looked.

I'm going to take it to "The Guy" and have it looked at. The truck is so nice I'll do what ever it needs to fix it. Here's a picture of it. Not quite like being there!
We're in the Smokey Mountains. Although we do get some snow here there's not much on the ground at any given time. The snow melts in a day or two. Some times there is no snow at all! They don't sand and salt either, except for the major rts.
