Paint code question

Hello, in my search for a real SD tailgate for my 2008 (dealer had one from 1999-2005 on truck)..I found one from a 2009 F250 but it's sterling gray metallic (UJ code), not Dark Shadow Gray metallic (CX code). I only have photos of the 2009 one so I can't match it up. Does anyone know if it's the same color with new name for 2009?

It's a different color. They look similar but there is enough of a difference that it won't match.

Thanks Fordman...located a tailgate far away, glad I didn't buy it...I need code CX for my 2008. Still haven't reconciled with the dealer as to why he had an older tailgate on there.

I think I'm going to have to eat the cost of one that belongs on the truck.

maybe you could work a deal out with the dealer on a split payment for getting the correct tailgate and painting it to match.

Located a primer coated one from Ford, having it painted now. What should the body shop charge me? Is $250 a good deal for the paint/clearcoat to look factory...remember I have to locate all the hardware after this..

What hardware do you need to buy? I would think the everything except the tailgate handle should swap right over from the incorrect one.
