i would like some input on some parts to get 275 to 300 horsepower out of the i6. any input would be great. also if anybody has a sound bite of the thrush mufflers that would be great to hear
If your going to shoot for numbers like that, you had better go for a stronger bottom end first. Your gonna' have to rev past 3600 rpm's to get 300 horse, and I've heard the first thing to fail from revs in these engines is usually the connecting rod bolts. So if it were me, that would be the first thing upgraded. After that I would work on flow; offenhouser intake, 4barrel carb, bigger cam, port work, and either headers or efi manifolds. There are some guys here with alot of experience working over these motors. They will probably give you alot more help than I can. good luck
About the only way your gonna hit 300hp that's driveable on the street is with boost. Also, the twin 2bbl carb is overkill without head work and a REALLY lumpy cam.
.030 over to 303, 10:1 compression with a cam, headers high-pro everything and mabe you can get those numbers. itds easier to drop a 351C that already has 300 ponies in it into ur truck, or even a 302
