Problem with 4x4

Need some help with my '86 XLT 4x4. I have the touch drive and it has no problem going into 4x4 and it work's fine when it's in 4x4. But the problem is simply this: I can't get it -OUT- of 4x4 when it's in 4x4. I can it get out, but it's very tricky getting it out. I don't know if it's the relay switch or if it's the solenoid on the transfer case. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

When you put it back in 2 wheel drive, does it go slowly, or is it tricky to get it to do it and it does it at regular speed?

Problem with 4x4

We had to stop and hit the button and it still wouldn't change. So we would wait and hit it again, and then again and again and again. It's realy tricky to try to get back into two wheel drive. One time it got stuck in Low Range and we had a hard time getting out. It's real tricky to get back into 2WD. It's hard to explain, though, because it's been a while since we had it in 4WD, because once we got it in 2WD we decided not to put it back into 4WD until we figured out what was wrong. I own a '91 Ford Probe LX and I'm affiliated with a website that deal's with Probes, in which is very helpful so I decided to try and find a Bronco II forum and see if anyone could give me some pointers.
Thanks,
