New Guy Needs Help
i just bought an 87 f250 and was told the slave cylinder was bad. i bought one and my dad and i repaced it but couldnt bleed all of the air out. i then read the haynes manual i just bought(which i probably should have done earlier) and it says that 87s need to have a whole new kit installed since the slave is sealed at the factory. i would like to know if it useless to keep trying to bleed it out or if it is possible. i really dont want to spend 70$ for the kit after i have already bought this 40$ part. any help would be appreciated.

The fact that the part is sold separately tells you that it CAN be installed. Look at the arrangement of the fluid line & the bleed screw on the slave and think about where the air is going, and you should be able to bleed it. I bled mine before I mounted it to the bellhousing by tilting & compressing it to move all the air to the MC reservoir.
