I´m building a home on a high slope in Veracruz, Mexico.
Bought a 1992 96,000 mile, 4 cyl, 2.3L, 5 speed, short bed to haul stuff down the hill.
Well it hauls fine downhill but won´t make it back up the hill.
Great time to find out after having bought it at the US border
Compression is good, clutch is new, all potential tuneup parts replaced
No AC, emission controls absent
Any suggestion on how to get a little more torque, HP or anything to make it up that darn hill.
(about a 30% slope, which my girl´s itty bitty 1.6 Chevy Monza handles fine and my 6 cyl explorer does good in towing the darn ranger up hill)
I originally thought this can´t be right so I borrowed 2 other same year rangers - they won´t make it up the hill either, without burning out clutches)
