There should almost be a sticky thread dedicated specifically to the parts that should only be MotorCraft...and which parts are acceptable as aftermarket.
<p>and they are even bigger turds.</p><p>the old job used to buy them at auction anytime they saw them for dime on the dollar with no miles on them. they were so underpowered i would have to move them on the lowboy to the job sites because they were too dangerous to drive on the road.</p><p>we were getting 3-4 year old F-650 and F-750 trucks with the gold plated cummings turds that had less than 40,000 miles on them for under $5,000 at auction, sometimes buying 5-6 at a time because no one else wanted them. we used them as attenuator trucks on the road jobs.</p>
The resistor mod is fine though. Nothing wrong with it. Maybe not the best way do go about something, but for a few bucks, sure feels like more power.
My problem with the resistor mods is this: First you cut wires and solder in the resistor. Then you get more power, you're happy for a while. Then you decide you want more power. So you want a chip or whatever. Now you have to cut out the resistor and solder the wire back together. You should've just bought a chip in the first place, lol.
