My 05 excursion died on me a couple weeks ago. First it threw a p2290 code for low injection control pressure. It did this a few months ago and had no problems. Cleared code and did not come back until now.
So i cleared the code. Drove a few more miles and lost all boost pressure.
Still fires up and runs. It does run a bit rough but only a little bit.
I replaced the oil cooler, did egr delete, and put an IPR remote oil cooler and full flow coolant filter on it few months ago.
Since it died i pulled the ipr valve and it looked good. I put a new screen o-rings, and wiring pigtail on it since it was out. Put back together and still no boost. I really did not figure that would fix the boost issue but i wanted to make sure the screen was not clogged or torn.
Truck will fire up cold and warm with no problem and run.
The hose from the map sensor to manifold is good and i put new clamps on it. ANY IDEAS??????? Thanks, Brian 2005 6.0 with 95,000 miles. icp duty cycle = 0.29
map kpa = 102
injection control pressure = 5.91 MPA
Had a friend with a similar issue, turned out the unison ring in the turbo had coked up and frozen in place. Try pulling the intake tube off the turbo and see if you can spin it by hand. His was so bad that with the engine running and the intake removed, the compressor wheel wouldn't even spin.
IIRC, there's a solenoid in or close to the pedestal that cycles the unison ring back and forth, may be worth while checking to ensure it is operating properly as well.
I'm a far shot from knowing a lot on the 6.0's, but that's my experience with this kind of an issue.
turbo spins real easy by hand. I get up to 5 pounds of boost now that i did the screen on the ipr valve. I redid the ends on the hose from manifold to map sensor also. Not sure if any of that had anything do with getting a couple more pounds of boost or not.
How would i check that solonoid? I am guesing that is what the wiring pigtail is connected to.
Would low high pressure oil cause turbo not to work? Seems like it would not mess with the turbo unless it was not getting oil.
Your readings aren't in psi are they?
More than likely you have a hpo leak.
In psi what is your icp and ipr
Also what is the icpv for grins
How does the icp harness look?
If the above checks out an air test is in order. Could be standpipes, dummy plugs, stc fitting, injector cup orings, or even the hpop (although rare in the 05 and up)

Looks like IPR is 29% and ICP is 590. You've got a leak as David posted.
Thats the right code. This is the second time the code came up. I cleared it the first time when i was out of town and had no problems for a couple months.
Does not really make any sense to me why i lost boost.
The code came up. I cleared it. Then about 5 miles down the road i lost boost. Code did not come back on.
I thought maybe turbo froze but it spins free.
Truck now runs a bit rough, shakes a bit when i rev it up. Actually i think its been a bit rough for a few months now.
I checked all the turbo pipes and clamps and everything is tight.
So truck will start and run but shakes a bit and no boost. Well i get up to 4 or 5 pounds.
Does you excursion have the 04 engine? What is the icp sensor voltage at key on engine off? Have you tried u plugging the icp sensor to see if the truck runs better? Low fuel can cause low boost. Double check intercooler boots for rips too.
I now have boost. But when i am parked it will only get to about 5 max. Before it would go way higher when parked. I was going to try the turbo relearn deal so i took it out for a drive to warm it up and got 26 pounds of boost. Still runs a little rough but not bad. Kinda starts weird(maybe just because i havent drivin it in 3 weeks).
I did tighten all turbo clamps on the cac tubes and poke a wire in the fitting on the manifold where the map connects. Replaced the screen and o-rings on the ipr valve beore this and changed oil.
Still not sure why i had no boost before and if it was unrelated to the code.
Guess i will drive it and see what happens.
Thanks for the info.
It lost all boost when i was driving. After the code popped up. So i had it towed to be safe.
But it used to get up to 12 pounds of boost while parked. Not a good test for sure i now know.
I still am not sure why i lost boost in the first place. I cant see the ipr valve causing that problem. But i did tighten clamps so maybe one just had a leak.
Or maybe the vains stuck.
Does not make any sense. But i will not test boost while parked anymore.
