Yup. You'll be much better off fixing the originals. Did a little bed repair work this weekend myself until it started raining on me. So, I had to quit and go have a beer.

Thats my point, there are so many mistakes in LMC's catalog it makes it difficult to get the right part. I order for both from the and got the same size part for both apllications, and both were the wrong size
What do you do if you do not have an original brace? The '73 F250 I am trying to breathe life into is missing the front braces and the box sides are torn... the life of a Ranch Truck out on the prairie of Eastern Montana.
They do not appear to be hard to make.. some metal rod, flattened and bent on each end with some holes drilled.. has anybody tried?

Do you have an original? If so, whiz over to Hector's Welding and have Ken fabricate new ones. Ken is an FTE member, I've known him since 2005.
Fortunately for me I am a skilled welder/fabricator...I just lengthened the ones I got from LMC
Are the braces a standard sized rod? Was it as simple as cutting the LMC brace and welding in a chunk of rod?
I only ask because my F250 is 80 miles one way from my current location and is not running yet. It's not like I can just run out to the garage and take a gander at the existing rear braces.
