That was the Pilot $20 kit I purchased and popped on there.
Don't laugh, but it took me about 4-5 hours to do. Being that I drilled them into the plastic, I soldered my own ground wire inside the housing (they only have the hot wire coming out and usually the mounting screws ground it out when screwing into metal).
Then came the marking of the holes, drilling, siliconing, moutning, then wiring under the truck. I tapped mine into the rear trailer harness running lights.
Overall, I love it! Simple little kit, simple add on, BIG SMILE!!!
I recommend if you have time to kill and have nothing else to do to the rig, this is a cheap, "wife budget friendly" kit
Looks REAL sharp!!! And I hear you on the time, doing it right takes a while, I probably have 5-6 hours in my install. This will forever be one of my favorite mods to see on Super Duties. I've had my lights in for about a year and a half now and it always puts a smile on my face! Of course, now I'm getting a little bored with just running lights so I'm trying to dream up a schematic to make them blink with my turn signals without replacing them with 2-function LEDs....or maybe replace them with small LED strobe heads and get side-facing warning lights AND running lights? I think too much...
I did the same mod a few weeks ago, except I used the 2 stage LEDs on mine. They will blink brighter when using the turn signals, it also took me about 5 hours to complete this install. They really look nice at night.
I would love to have the cab amber lights...... My problem is I'm too chicken to drill into a perfectly good cab. The worry about leaks would just kill it for me!!
I used the Pilot Amber light kit, so no blinkers I was toying with the idea of wiring them up for blinkers, but then decided I liked the static look more.
I bought 6 of these in amber for $34 w/ free shipping: http://www.ebay.com/itm/RED-LED-boat-motorcycle-truck-trailer-ATV-RV-ORV-golf-cart-turn-light-/361009340287?hash=item540dd55f7f
I don't have any wiring pics, but I can take some. I made a harness from the front lights and used waterproof automotive style quick disconnects at each light so it's easy to change a light if I have any problems down the road.
I also bought some in white to do my bed lighting project, but I haven't got around to that yet.
I really like the look of running lights on the boards and would consider this mod myself.
My concern is I don't know if it would be goofy with my style of running board? Sorry, hard to see much in that pic. My boards are one solid piece and flush up to the cab so offer great protection and I'd be leery of drilling holes in them.

I think with your running board it would be easier to wire it up since you don't have to worry as much about hiding the wires. I will at some point be doing the same to my excursion.
Don't be afraid to drill!! It's easy. Once you line them up where you want it, it's just three holes, little silicone and you are golden. The mod is worth it for the smiles alone.

tmilicia - Thanks for directing me towards your #9 post again! I don't know how I missed that - Definitely Cranial Rectitus on my part! I'm getting old fast and I don't like it. Thanks again for taking your time to repost that for me again I do appreciate it.
