Use your judgement, imo. I have let them soak overnight if it was really dirty, or if it was taken apart late on a Friday night. My last rebuild was same day.
but that is my opinion, NumberDummy will probably give you a part number for that.
I just cleaned the upper part of the carb but I'll probably let the rest soak. I'm not in a hurry or anything. I can finish up tomorrow then put it back together and see if I screwed it up or not!

That is friggin hilarious and true. Jk lol haha. Does your opinion have a part #, or are we talking just the carb rebuild kit part #?
Careful you will get yourself on ND list for xmas. No worries I get them year round, lol. DILLIGAF.
Let the carb parts soak, the cleaner the better and get all the varnished old fuel off there.
NumberDummy will probably give you the part number for that. Maybe yes, maybe no...it depends.
1975/79: There are FIVE different 2150 series Motorcraft 2V carb kits. If the carb's ID tag is missing, it's a real b!tch to figure out which carb kit is correct.
1962/74: There is ONE 2100 series Auto-Lite/Motorcraft 2V carb kit.

ND lives about 30-40 minutes from me. One of these weekends, I am going to cruise over and learn some things. His "" posts are some of the funniest ones on here, intentional or not I dont know.
So what do you say ND, next weekend is good for you?
Yes to me he is quite the online "character with a unique personality and perspective on life". And now days I laugh at his replies and the I earn every so often. I ROTFFLAMO at the "sassy old whipper snapper like attitude", that come's with it too.
But dang he sure does know his part #'s for sure, you have to give him that. I have said it before, I think he is the guy in front of the door looking at the cowl for some error and or the guy looking in the cab checking part #'s for sure!

Sorry, usually you could swing on by, but at the present, I'm incapacitated with two pinched nerves in my spine, which is affecting my right leg.
So I'm even saltier than usual as I cannot walk...or drive and so have only put 17 miles on my new ride which I last drove 8/7.
Success! I got everything put back together, installed on the truck, after a couple of cranks the engine turned over and was idling pretty good. I made a couple of small adjustments then took my truck for a drive. It does seem a little sluggish but not bad. Tomorrow I'm going to see if the truck starts without any prolonged starting. Thanks for all the info!
He's the guy with his paws on the winch controls because nothing happens without that guy.
Classic 'stache ND
Congrats to Apache for a successful reassembly. You're earning street cred now! No "spare" parts, right? Right! Tune'er up and get 'er back on the road.
