Hello, I bought a '88 bronco II ten days ago, I saw milky oil in the tap of the entry for the oil, at the instant I think in broken head or a gasket, I was tree days pulling out all the engine parts, and I didn´t find any defect in the heads or gaskets, the cause for the watter leak was a bad seal between the lower intake manifold and the 123 head (drivers side), the last owner repair the heads but at the moment of torque the lower intake manifold he don´t repeat the step of the final torque (18 lbs/ft) after run the engine, the bolts when I took the manifold was very loose. I took the heads to a local toolshop they checked it under pressure and the heads are ok, I only replace gaskets and bolts and the truck is runing well.
I had that too, but my engine's old, high mileage, and not worth taking apart.... I plan on replacing it with a better, newer engine, and new parts that DON'T LEAK later on, because it's gonna be my project car when I get a new car.
As an easier fix, I just used this stuff called "K&W Stop Leak." Worked like a charm. Unfortunately, the coolant level is starting to go down a little bit again, BUT fortunately it's not getting into the oil like it was.
